Songwriters, Are You Ready? FOOM 2023 Is Just Around The Corner.
Yes that’s right, it’s that time of the year again. FOOM 2023 is just around the corner and now is the time to get your songs ready.
Entries open on Saturday July 1st, 2023.
For those who don’t know, FOOM stands for “Festival Of Original Music” and it’s the annual songwriting competition that SCALA has held since 1994.
As in previous years there will be four categories to enter…
- Live
- Recorded Demo
- Instrumental
- Lyrics

For the LIVE section of FOOM, there are five live performance heats which will be at the home of SCALA Live Wheatsheaf Hotel (39 George Street, Thebarton)
- Heat 1 – August 24
- Heat 2 – August 31
- Heat 3 – September 7
- Heat 4 – September 14
- Heat 5 – September 21
The GRAND FINAL will be held at Nexus Arts, Lions Arts Centre which is on the corner of North Terrace and Morphett Street in Adelaide on Saturday October 7.
So get your songs ready and out there for the world to hear, enter FOOM 2023. Entries open from Saturday July 1.
